The Antonini Rossini Pavilion is characterized by its monumental architectural style inspired by the Piacentini school of the period, representing a significant historical and architectural landmark. In addition to its original construction dating back to the 1930s–1940s, the building has undergone several vertical extensions and expansions over time. It is located in the north-western part of the hospital complex, in close connection with the emergency block, to which it is linked through a structural connection built in 2017–2018.

The project essentially consists of a major refurbishment of the existing structures. Given the intervention on an operational healthcare facility, an integrated methodological approach was developed to manage complex transformation processes in contexts characterized by high functional and operational criticality, while ensuring continuity of healthcare services in the areas not affected by the works.
The project includes a comprehensive set of interventions aimed at improving the building’s structural and seismic performance, developed according to a highly specialized approach aligned with best practices in structural engineering.
